Final August Break #30+31: in the mail

The final day of the August Break and what a great (mail) day! First I received my sample pack from Amy. And it is lovely! An adorable tissueholder that matches my favorite bags and also looks really cute at home.
And great timing as my cat has just picked up her old habit of chewing plastic again.

Later today the doorbell rang and the postmen brought me this amazing package from Clare! It basically holds everything I love: owls, nail polish, cute chopsticks to make Asian food even better than it already is and chocolate(plus a few other amazing little gifts)! I'm sure you'll see more of these items on the blog soon, for instance when I try the nail polish. However I'm pretty sure the candy will vanish quite quickly and probably won't be able to make another appearance;)

Thank you both for all the lovely goodies!

August Break #29:how I spend most of my time

Sponsor in September?

You may have noticed I've been taking sponsors for a while now, however what was long overdue is a proper sponsorship page. This weekend I finally got round to setting it all up and I am proud to announce it is finished. You can take a look at it here.

Instead of my standard size you can now also get smaller ones or have the unique large size that will only be available to 1 each month. All sponsorships come with extras such as special posts. For more info on that as well as giveaways and reviews click here.

August Break #24:in the mail!

I got the cutest little Moleskine in the mail today! It was handpainted by Kate and I love it so so much! I was already excited when I saw how beautifully she'd written my name on the envelope. And to then to open it and find the little notebook picturing an owl perched amongst the cherry blossoms! Amazing, isn't it?

If you want to get your own Moleskine by Kate(and after seeing this one I can't imagine you wouldn't!) you'll be pleased to know she's working on an entire collection of notebooks to sell on her Etsy. So be on the lookout for that!

August Break #16: mail day

Most of today was spent getting packages ready. This is probably the most I've ever had to send all at once. So if you are one of those expecting a package from me, it is probably on it's way!

Under the Tuscan Sun

I'd say it's time I ease back into my blogging routine a little, though needless to say I'm still going to continue the August Break too.

Yesterday I saw one of my favorite movies for the third time. Under The Tuscan Sun is just one of those movies I have to see when I know it's on tv, even though I've seen it before.

It's so cute movie, but not so sweet that it becomes a cliché. It has lots of lovely characters, funny moments and pretty cities. It is somehow very reminiscent of A Good Year, if you liked that, you will probably like this too.

Also I love that Sandra Oh and Kate Walsh play a couple! Anyone who's watched Grey's Anatomy will have a bit of a laugh over this.

P.S.If you've already seen this movie and have seen Twilight as well, you might enjoy this:

August Break #11: in the mail

This has been one of the best mail days I've ever had. I received a Pentax(, but I'll do a more elaborate post on that later, as this is not an event I allow to go unnoticed). But also this Turnip Baby I ordered.

The moment I spotted it I knew I had to have one. It's so cute and reminded me a lot of Mark Ryden's work, it has that same vibe that I love so much!

Anyway I'm really excited about it, it is such an original and well made little creature! And "choicestgirl" even sent along a lovely postcard.

Though it was not a very exciting day at first: the weather was bad and I didn't have anything fun planned, today's mail turned it into a pretty amazing one, wouldn't you agree?

A little (August) Break #1-4: stuff from France

You may know I suffer from ME/CFS and that it can take me longer to bounce back from things. This vacation brought my energy level down a lot and at the moment I'm finding it hard to spend much time on the computer. However I do not want to neglect the blog.

So... you may have seen bloggers participating in the August Break. Katrina asked me if I was too and I thought it was the perfect solution! It'll take less energy for me, I can finally post my vacation pictures and most of my goals for this month revolve around photography anyway!

I may still do an occasional "regular" blogpost this month and I'm also hoping to post the giveaway soon, but mostly I'll just post a picture a day.

Plans and Goals: August

There's so much I want and need to do, but with little energy I'm finding it hard to focus. So... I thought I'd post a list today of things I have planned. This way you get a little idea of what'll (hopefully) happen on the blog this month. And it might just be the motivation I need to actually do it.

I'm planning to:
  • Set up a nice system so it's easy for me to scan and post pictures from analogue cameras.
  • Finally share some Diana pics.
  • Post about my very exciting photography news.
  • Do a giveaway! Yes, I brought some things back from France to give to a lucky reader.
  • Organize my house, because I am sure it'll help my blogging too.
  • Buy soapstone and get started making little figurines/statues.
  • Finish my current knitting project.
  • Re-do my Etsy pictures.
  • Maybe start painting again.
  • And have some fun:)
As you can see lots of plans, but hopefully I get to do most of them. I'll let you know how it goes.

Marvelous Music: Amélie-Les-Crayons

Thanks for your kind words on my last post(about my cat). I think the antibiotics and new food are already kicking in a bit, and she's been super sweet the past few days. Before she would never come and sit with me this often. She's actually on my lap while I'm writing this post!

So on to one of the cd's I bought in France. The plan was to get 2, maybe 3, cds this year, but it turned into 7(including Hindi Zahra's one!). But this cd by Amélie-Les-Crayons was the only actual planned buy.

And I haven't even gotten a chance to listen to it yet! But I will soon when things calm down a bit.

Hope you'll enjoy it too!

P.S. Remember when I wrote about this cat?(Bottom picture.) Well s/he was super shy at first, but now... s/he actually waves at me, I kid you not! I just took a stroll and s/he looked me in the eye while I passed and waved a bunch of times! I'd never seen a cat wave before, but it was awesome!
