Wishlist

Uniqlo is an amazing store I first discovered in Singapore. Later I found out they had shops in multiple countries(though sadly not mine). Anyway, I spotted this amazing waterproof windproof parka on their website. Isn't it perfect? I love the cut and the color.

It reminds me of the cute coats you sometimes see in the kids' department, yet made into a lovely grown-up version.
And it even folds up and can be kept in a little pouch. So it's very handy too! I'd say it's pretty near to perfect actually.

Amazing Art: Xue Wang

Creepy and cute is still a combination I'm drawn to in art. And I was in luck, because I recently came across the works of Xue Wang(who also keeps a blog if you want to stay in the loop).

It is very Mark Ryden-reminiscent, but it's often more glamourous, and in my opinion, a tad more creepy. It's not scarier in it's subjects, but where Mark Ryden brings a calm vibe to each piece, these just tend to look a lot more haunted. Anyway, I hope you'll enjoy this as much as I did. And I apologize in advance for the crazy dreams you might have tonight.

Circle Songs #26

"Don't look down, 'cause things are looking up..."
Don't Look Down - Fink
{picture sources: 1 - 2 - 3}

The snow has started to melt and there is sunshine again! It is still really cold, but at least this tiny glimmer of spring has given me hope. I loved the look of snow, but I am more than ready to lose the tights I've been wearing under my ski pants. And come to think of it, I'm quite tired of those ski pants as well. I long for jeans and dresses!

In the Mail...

Miki sent me the cutest package! She saw a post I did on candy canes a little back. As I mentioned then, we hardly have any candy cane products here, so I was really excited when I found these amazing goodies!

And it didn't end there! She also gave me this amazing lunch bag! It's not only incredibly cute, but also helps keep my lunch warm. So it's perfect for a nice and healthy bento!

Thanks again, Miki!

Lovely Movies: Toast

The moment I heard of Toast I knew I had to watch it. It has this atmosphere I love in movies: a bit bittersweet, some nice humor and a touch of magic. Throw in Freddie Highmore and it instantly shoots to the top of my watch list.

It tells the story of Nigel Slater's childhood. Now if you don't know Nigel Slater -cook and food writer- you can still thoroughly this film. And once you're done chances are that you'll want to read his book too. I know I do!

One minute rule!

One final tip: stock up on some ingredients! Because this might very well inspire you to do some baking of your own...

Threadless now has a pet department! Unfortunately for cat ladies like myself, it is quite dog centered. However, this pet bowl is a wonderful exception! Isn't it amazing?!

And speaking of cat stuff from Threadless... may I just point out this amazing blanket?

And don't worry, as I said there are plenty of things for dog lovers too though, just browse the site.

Amazing Art: Nadejda Sokolova

Nadejda Sokolova seems to be a Jill of all trades, because when you google her, you'll find the loveliest art dolls, the cutest cat paintings and artwork I can only describe as "Klimt goes Sci Fi". I hope you'll enjoy all!

P.S. As these pictures came from Russian websites it was difficult for me to be 100% sure that all came from he same artist. I'm pretty certain, but if I were mistaken, let me know and I'll give credit where credit is due.

Owl Things Considered

As is often the case with gold, this owl necklace doesn't exactly come cheap. But it sure is lovely!

It's tiny enough to be subtle, but detailed enough to be worth your while. I also like how it's not childish, yet still incredibly cute.

Spotted

Moon phases seem to be very popular right now. And I'm quite happy about that. It's one of those natural things that's inescapable even in the city where you can't see the stars. And even there, it feels magical.

Also, pretty magical are these lollipops.

And Gemagenta's idea for a piece of jewelry in the moonphase of an event or day that is dear to you, is just absolutely perfect!

This shirt is lovely! I bet it would make a nice lounge-tee too.

I think I still have a watch somewhere that changes from sun to moon every day. This one says it's a moonphase watch, but I'm guessing it might be the same. Either way, pretty cool, right?

I love the vintage feel of these stamps.

Sake cups are often cute, but this moon phase cup is the best I've seen so far.

The moon faces in this print are just wonderful! And I love it's background too.

I'd never seen it done before, but moon phases almost look made for garlands, don't they?

And it works very well on a scarf as well!

This ring really does look like the moon! And I love how it could match any style outfit.

Currently as a special offer: a silk scarf and moon calendar.

I love how you can mix and match these cute studs from Misluo.

Very pretty and quite educational as well. This print would look great in my new place too!
